The design for Skye was inspired by everyday objects: small molded plastic hangers used for displaying socks in a store. Without the socks on it, the hangers formed some very interesting shapes as Julia manipulated them.

From there, she sketched out her idea for a block and colored it to create the dynamic shapes you see. Skye is a fantastic way to expand your skills with foundation paper piecing.

Its intense geometric lines make for a bold and striking quilt design.
