Sweet Potato Quilts

Christina Lee is the quilt pattern designer and educator behind Sweet Potato Quilts, where she helps quilters explore their creativity with confidence and freedom. Her work centers around giving quilters the tools to design quilts they feel proud of, rather than feeling limited to following patterns exactly.

Through the Sweet Potato Quilt Club, Christina offers mix-and-match quilt block patterns that allow quilters to experiment with layouts, combine blocks in new ways, and create quilts that reflect their own ideas. Members build a growing library of blocks over time, expanding their creative possibilities while sewing alongside a supportive community. Christina also hosts a yearly Block of the Month (BOM) program that guides quilters through a full quilt project while learning new piecing techniques along the way.

Her teaching style focuses on clarity, encouragement, and helping quilters understand the “why” behind quilt construction so they can approach future projects with confidence. Based in Boise, Idaho, Christina is also a BERNINA ambassador, fabric designer for Art Gallery Fabrics, and a clarinetist with the Boise Philharmonic. Drawing from her background in music education, she brings a thoughtful and approachable teaching style to quilting, helping students see quilt design as both a craft and an art.
